COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Union College women's golf team opened the spring portion of their 2013-14 schedule the last two days at the Columbia (S.C.) Spring Invitational, held at the par 71 Columbia Country Club. Overall, the Bulldogs placed fifth as a team in the competition.

Individually, senior Brittany Zins led the way, picking herself up after a first round 87 to fire a 79 in the second round to place seventh overall. Meanwhile, junior Katie Nusz placed in a tie for 15th (85-89) and sophomore Sydney Smith finished just behind her teammate in a tie for 17th (89-87). Rounding out the top performances in the event for Union was sophomore Danielle Judd, who placed 30th (87-96).

The Union College women's golf team returns to action on Mar. 10, hosting the 2014 Bulldog Spring Invite at Wasioto Winds Golf Course in Pineville, Ky. The event runs through Mar. 11.
