ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Sophomore Lydia Nash is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

This marks the second time this season the Florence, Ky., native received the honor. Nash last earned the honor on Jan. 6.

The 6-foot center helped Union to a 2-0 record last week, averaging 24.5 points on 80.8 percent shooting. Nash connected on 21-of-26 shots from the floor. She netted 23 points in an 88-53 win at St. Andrews before hitting 11-of-12 shots to score 26 in a 95-83 victory over Lindenwood Belleville.

On the season, Nash is averaging 17.9 points per game to lead the Bulldogs. She ranks second in NAIA Division II in field-goal percentage at 61.7 percent, 22nd in total points (482) and 29th in points per game.

The Bulldogs are 19-8 overall and 14-4 in conference play.

Union returns to action on Wednesday when it plays host to Bryan (Tenn.) in its final regular-season home game. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
