KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Union College men's basketball team is ranked 25th in this week's NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, marking the first time since Jan. 4, 2006 that the Bulldogs have earned a spot in the ranking.

The Bulldogs, 16-3 overall and 9-1 in the AAC, enter this week on a six-game winning streak. The team is also winners of nine of their last 10 games and seven straight conference games.

Union went 3-0 last week, starting the week off by defeating Crown (Tenn.) on Monday, 106-55. On Wednesday in a match-up of the top two teams in the AAC standings, the Bulldogs blew past Reinhardt (Ga.) in Robsion Arena, 88-77. Union pushed the winning streak to six games on Saturday, putting away Truett-McConnell (Ga.) early in a 77-65 victory on the road.

Statistically, Union's leading scorer on the year forward Deante Johnson (13.6 points a game) is currently third in all of NAIA Division II in field goal percentage at 64.9 percent. The team is also seventh nationally in defensive rebounds per contest (28.94 'boards per game) and eighth in steals per game (9.37). The Bulldogs are also 10th nationally in total steals (185) and 11th in scoring margin (14.36), as well.

The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday, traveling to Montreat (N.C.) for another AAC tilt. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
