CLEVELAND, Ga. - Union College forward Deante Johnson notched a double-double, (19 points and 13 rebounds), to lead the Bulldogs to a 77-65 victory on the road at Truett-McConnell (Ga.) on Saturday evening in Appalachian Athletic Conference action.

With the victory, Union won their sixth straight contest to improve to 16-3 overall, 9-1 in the AAC. TMC fell to 1-18, 1-9 in the AAC with the defeat.

In the first half, Union quickly put away the home Bears, leaping out a 13-2 lead in the first four minutes and never looking back. The scoring barrage continued from the Bulldogs all period, as they eventually took a insurmountable 21-point lead (41-20) with 3:42 remaining in the period.

TMC did go on a 6-0 run to end the first half, but Union still held a big lead at intermission at 43-28. It was more of the same in the second half for the Bulldogs, as they opened their biggest lead of the night at 23-points (55-32) with 15:12 remaining in regulation.

From there, the Bulldogs coasted, as they walked away with a 12-point AAC road victory, notching their seventh straight win in conference play in the process.

Overall, Johnson led the way with his double-double, as he had game-highs in both points and rebounds. Johnson also shot 7-of-10 from the floor on the night and 5-of-7 from the free throw line, as well.

Other double digit scorers on the night for the Bulldogs included Fitzgerald White, who had 17 points (and four assists) and Tarik Smith, who finished with 14 points.

TMC was led in the defeat by Rudy Deaza, who scored 17 points off the bench.
