BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College guard Haley Perkins scored a game-high 15 points, as the host Bulldogs got past Reinhardt (Ga.), 54-48, in Appalachian Athletic Conference women's basketball action on Wednesday evening at Robsion Arena.

With the win, Union improved to 12-6 overall and 8-2 in the AAC, as the team remains in a three-way tie for first place atop the AAC standings. Reinhardt fell to 7-10, 4-6 in the AAC with the loss.

In the first period, Union opened up a 13-8 lead at the 11-minute mark and proceeded to never look back the rest of the half. The Bulldogs ended the half on a high note when guard Amber Taylor sank a jumper at the horn, giving Union a 27-21 lead at the break.

Points were just as hard to come by in the second half, but Union remained in the lead for the duration of the contest. The Bulldogs essentially put Reinhardt away early in the half when Perkins nailed back-to-back three's to give the team a 33-21 lead two minutes into the period.

Despite Union hanging on to the lead the entire half, Reinhardt did not make things comfortable for the team, chopping the lead down to two points (35-33) with nine minutes left. However, the Bulldogs fought off each Lady Eagle charge at the lead, knocking down several free throws over the final minute to put Reinhardt away and take the hard fought six point home conference win.

Overall, Perkins scored her 15 points after a great night of shooting, going 5-of-9 from the floor and 3-of-4 from three point range. Perkins led three double-digit scorers on the evening for the Bulldogs, as Taylor ended the night with 11 points (and six assists) and Macy Clontz finished with 10 points.

Reinhardt was led in the loss by Taylor Johnson, who had 12 points.
