ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - Union College's Jessica Frisby and Kayla Langen have been named 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes, the organization announced Friday. 

Frisby and Langen join a group of 507 student-athletes named 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director for the distinction, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

Frisby, a junior, saw playing time in 17 matches on the 2013 season, making nine starts. She took eight shots from the midfield on the year, three of which were on goal. An English and Mass Communication major at Union, Frisby has posted a 3.63 grade point average in her career.

Langen, also a junior midfielder, logged playing time in 16 matches on the year, starting in nine of those contests. She scored two goals on the year, the first of which on her career at Union. An Athletic Training major, Langen boasts a 3.60 GPA.

The Union women's soccer team finished the 2013 season with a 7-11 overall mark, 5-5 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
