BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union junior Paige Moore is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the second week in a row, the league announced Monday.
Also receiving league honors for the Bulldogs is junior Heather Fields, who is the AAC Setter of the Week for the second consecutive week as well.
Union went 1-1 last week with the loss coming in a tough 3-1 tilt versus No. 9 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.). Union won the first set 25-23 over the Lady Raiders, but dropped the next three 25-23, 25-21, 25-19. The Bulldogs swept Point (Ga.) to close out the year.
On the week, Moore led the team with 36 total kills and with a .360 hitting percentage. She also had 11 digs and four block assists during the two matches.
Moore ranks 29th in the NAIA in total kills (423) and 46th in kills per set (3.53). The Louisville, Ky., native has 24 service aces and 34 total blocks to her credit as well.
Fields averaged 10.71 assists last week and posted 44 assists against Lindsey Wilson. She also 19 digs and two service aces.
For the season, the Louisville, Ky., native has 979 assists on the year and leads the team with 45 aces. Fields has notched 40-plus assists in nine matches. She has 273 digs to her credit as well.
Union is 24-8 overall and 17-3 in the AAC.
The Bulldogs are the No. 2 seed in the AAC Tournament and will open up against No. 7 seed Virginia Intermont on Thursday at 1 p.m. The tournament is being held in Kingsport, Tenn.
