BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College women's swimming head coach Rafael Forti has announced that Jule Stein has signed her National Letter of Intent and plans to join the Bulldog program for the Spring 2014 semester.

Stein, a native of Stuttgart, Germany, plans to swim breaststroke and IM  for the Bulldogs when she joins the team in January.

"I am happy to have Jule joining our program in the spring," said Forti. "We are definitely addressing an area where depth was a concern. She has great credentials, comes from good coaching, and possesses a great deal of swimming experience. She will provide an immediate impact in our roster. She will have the chance to train side-by-side with two of the best breaststrokers in the nation and I know she will benefit a lot from it."

In her native country, she has recorded multiple victories the State Württemberg championships, and finished first at the State Youth Team Championships of Württemberg. She has qualified for the South German Championships in the 100-breast, and captured multiple titles in International Competitions.

Jule, the daughter of Ina and Mike Stein, plans to major in International Business at Union College.

The Union women's swimming team returns to action tomorrow, traveling for a meet at Campbellsville against the host Tigers and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.). Things get underway at 11 a.m.
