BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - The Union College cycling team is ready for the USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships, which begin this afternoon in Beech Mountain, N.C. and runs through Sunday.

In the past, Union has been very successfully at the National Championships, winning the team National Championship in 2002 and 2011, while finishing second four times in the last five years (2009, 2010, 2012). Individually, the Bulldogs have been just as successful, as eight cyclists have captured individual National Championships.

Leading the way for Union this season will be one of those eight National Champions, as Wesley Lamberson looks to defend his Men's Omnium title he captured a year ago in the race. Other Bulldogs who will take part in the race include freshman Tanner Chaney, and junior Kara Uhl. The trio will take part in several events, including the dual slalom, short track, cross country, downhill, and team relay.
