BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union's Ana Calaza is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Libero of the Week, the league announced on Monday. This is the fifth time this season and the third week in a row she has received the award.

The Rio de Janerio, Brazil, native, also has received the honor on Sept. 16, Sept. 23, Oct. 7 and Oct. 14.

Calaza, a sophomore, averaged 6.55 digs per set last week as Union went 3-0, defeating Tennessee Wesleyan 3-1, St. Andrews (N.C.) 3-0 and Columbia (S.C.) 3-1. She amassed 72 digs on the week and two service aces. In addition, Calaza eclipsed the 500-dig mark for the season.

On the year, Calaza had 504 and ranks ninth in the NAIA in digs per set at 5.6 and 17th in total digs.

The Bulldogs are 18-6 overall and 11-2 in the AAC.

Union returns to action Tuesday when it pays Virginia Intermont a visit. Match time is set for 6:30 p.m.
