PINEVILLE, Ky. - The Union women's golf team sits in second place following the opening round of play of the Bulldog Invitational at Wasioto Winds Golf Course in Pineville, Ky. on Monday. The men's tournament was suspended due to darkness.

Play will resume Tuesday with the completion of the men's first round and both the men's and women's second round.

The Union women posted a total team score of 342, placing them 27 strokes back of first-place St. Andrews (N.C.). The Bulldogs are seven strokes in front of Point (Ga.) and Pikeville (Ky.), which are tied for third at 349. In fifth place is Reinhardt (Ga.) with a 351, while Truett-McConnell (Ga.) and Asbury (Ky.) are tied for sixth with a 355.

Rounding out the field are Bryan (Tenn.) in eighth and Union's B Team. The Lady Lions posted a 357, while the Union B Team carded a 405.

Leading the Bulldogs individually is Katie Nusz, who sits tied fifth overall. Nusz carded a 37 on the front nine before shooting a 45 on the back nine for a 10-over 82. She is tied with Sadiyya Gillespie of St. Andrews and Kayla Smith of Reinhardt.

Madison Moore and Laura Kinsman, both of St. Andrews, lead the pack with Moore sporting a 2-over 74 and Kinsman a 3-over 75.

Sydney Smith and Danielle Judd are in a pack of five tied for 13th overall as they shot a 13-over 85. Brittany Zins rounds out Union's scoring with an 18-over 90, placing her 26th.
