BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union sophomore Ana Calaza was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Libero of the Week on Monday, marking the third time this season she has received the honor.

The Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, native also earned the award on Sept. 16 and Sept. 23.

Calaza averaged 5.7 digs per set last week as Union went 3-0 in conference play. She had 57 total digs in 10 sets as the Bulldogs won 3-1 versus Milligan (Tenn.) on Oct. 1 before posting 3-0 sweeps against Truett-McConnell (Ga.) and Reinhardt (Ga.) over the weekend. Calaza had two service aces on the week. 

Her best match of the week came against Milligan when she recorded 28 digs and two aces in the 25-21, 25-15, 19-25, 25-18 victory.

For the season, Calaza has 335 digs and is averaging 5.15 digs per set. She ranks 24th in the NAIA in digs per set. Calaza has nine service aces to her credit.

Union is 13-5 overall and 7-2 in the AAC. The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday when they visit Montreat (N.C.) at 6:30 p.m.
