ATHENS, Tenn. - The Union College women's golf team is fifth overall after day one of the 2013 Tennessee Wesleyan Invitational at the Springbrook Golf and Country Club.

As a team, the Lady Bulldogs posted a combined score of 348 on the first day of competition. St. Andrews (N.C.) leads the way after round one, posting a team scored of 319.

Individually, junior Katie Nusz led the Lady Bulldogs in the first day of competition, firing an 82 (37-45) on the par 72 course to put herself in a tie for fifth overall. Meanwhile, senior Brittany Zins is in a tie for ninth on the individual end after posting a first round score of 84 (42-42).

Elsewhere, freshman Elizabeth Haack is 23rd overall after posting a first day score of 90 (46-44), while Danielle Judd and Sydney Smith rounded out the Lady Bulldog lineup in the event, both recording 92's on the day to find themselves in a tie for 25th overall.

Action wraps up at the Tennessee Wesleyan Invitational tomorrow.
