BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - The Union College cycling team kicked off their 2013 season over the weekend at the East Tennessee State race in Johnson City, Tenn., and the squad got their season off on the right foot with some high finishes.

The race was also the first for the Bulldogs under the leadership of first year head coach Sean Trinque

Overall, the Bulldogs were led in the race by junior Kara Uhl, who registered top finishes in several races. The Smithville, Texas native registered a second place finish in the cross country, was sixth in the downhill, and seventh in both the short track and dual cross events.

Meanwhile, senior Wesley Lamberson, the defending NCCA Division II National Champion, posted top ten finishes in three events on the weekend for the Bulldogs.

The Union cycling team is back in action this weekend, traveling to Atlanta to take part in a race hosted by Georgia Tech on Saturday and Sunday.
