GEORGETOWN, Ky. - The Union volleyball team came away with split in its final two matches of the Rumpke Invitational in Georgetown, Ky., on Saturday. The Lady Bulldogs posted a 3-0 win over Bethel (Tenn.) but fell 3-0 to Trinity Christian (Ill.) in their finale.

Union is now 2-3 overall on the year.

In the first game, Union set the tone early in the first frame winning 25-15 over Bethel. The Lady Bulldogs closed out the sweep with 25-23 and 25-21 decisions in the next two sets.

Paige Moore and Caity Merritt each had a team-high 7 kills, while Karina Ramos posted five kills to go with three total blocks. Brooke Hill was huge at the net for Union, recording six total blocks including four solo blocks. Ana Calaza registered 22 digs in the win.

Against Trinity Christian, Union fell 25-20 in the first set and it did not get any better after than as Trinity Christian posted 25-13 and 25-16 decisions for the sweep.

Again, Moore and Merritt led the way with seven kills. Ramos notched six kills, and Calaza made 23 digs.

By the Numbers
