BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College head men's soccer coach Tyler Brock has announced that CJ Hopkins, a product of Epsom, England, has signed his National Letter of Intent. Hopkins plans to join the Bulldog program in time for 2013 preseason practices later this summer.

Hopkins will transfer into Union from Roehampton University in London. He is currently clubbing for Cobham FC, a squad that has won three league championships and one cup title. For the year, Hopkins has posted a goals against average of 1.25 in 10 matches for Cobham FC, recording two shutouts.

"CJ is going to bring a lot of competition to the position right away," said Brock. "He is an older player that has a lot of potential to be very successful in this league. CJ has a lot of attributes a lot of the quality goalkeepers do, and I'm excited to see how he comes in and compares to the goalkeepers we already have here at Union."

CJ, the son of Lisa and Kevin Hopkins, plans to major in athletic training at Union College.

The Bulldogs kick-off their 2013 season on Aug. 30, hosting Emmanuel (Ga.) as part of the 2013 Thomas Trammel Memorial Classic.
