KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Bryan scored four runs in the seventh inning to take a three-run lead, and never looked back, as the Lions eliminated the Union College baseball team from the 2013 Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament on Thursday with a 9-7 victory.

With the loss, UC ends their 2013 campaign with a 30-23 overall mark.

For the third straight game, Union grabbed the early lead, leaping out to a 3-0 lead after two innings.

In the first, LaVance Anderson was knocked home on a Zach Dillman RBI ground out.  In the second, Miguel Mendez scored on an error, while Jared Tomany was brought home on an Anderson RBI sacrifice fly.

Over the next few innings, Bryan took their first lead of the day, plating three runs in the third to tie things up at three, then two more in the fourth to take a 5-3 lead.

In the sixth, UC wrestled the lead back with a three-run outburst, going up 6-5. Anderson and Ben Hartley had RBI singles in the frame, while Gabby Juarbe put UC up with an RBI on a ground out.

In the seventh, Bryan took the lead with their four-run frame to go up 9-6. UC added a run in the eighth on a Tyler Brake RBI single, but left two stranded. In the ninth, Tomany tried to ignite a rally with a two-out single, but Bryan got the next UC batter to ground out to end it.

Overall, Tomany led UC in the loss at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Anderson was the only other Union player to have multiple-hits on the day, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.

Bryan was the led in the win by Grant Zawadzki, who was 3-for-5 with two runs scored. BC reliever Joey Vega (4-3) earned the win after allowing just one run on three hits in four innings of work. UC's Nelson Price (4-5) was the loser for the Bulldogs.
