BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College men's head soccer coach Tyler Brock has announced that Evan Roberts has signed his National Letter of Intent to join the Bulldog program in time for summer workouts in a few months.

Roberts, a native of Richmond, Ky., prepped at Madison Central where he has been a starter for the last two seasons on the boy's varsity soccer team. He's also been a two-year co-captain on the Commonwealth Soccer Club, and was a 2012 KHSSA Academic All-State Honorable Mention choice for his work in the classroom.

As a midfielder/forward, Roberts has scored 12 goals and added five assists at Madison Central, while scoring three goals and recording seven assists for the Commonwealth Soccer Club.

"Evan brings a good knowledge to the game," said Brock. "He plays simple takes care of the ball while making the right decisions on the field. I want to see how he comes into preseason, and I hope he works hard over this summer.  We are excited to have him join our program."

Evan, the son of Tana and Bruce Roberts, plans to major in business at Union College.
