WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - The Union College men's and women's track & field teams competed in their last event before the 2013 AAC Championships on Saturday, taking part in the Cumberlands (Ky.) Invitational. 

Overall, the UC men's team finished 10th overall in the event, while the women's team placed 11th.

For the men, senior Frantzy Sejour led the way, registering high finishes in both track and field events. On the track, Sejour finished sixth in the 200-meter dash (23.88) and 10th in the 100-meter dash (11.78). Meanwhile, Sejour registered an eighth place finish in the high jump with a 19 foot, 8.5 inch effort.

Elsewhere for the men's squad, William White registered a personal best mark in the javelin to place ninth overall (135 feet, eight inches), while finishing 12th in the shot put (41 feet, 0.5 inches). Rounding out the top performances for the men's team were Danny Trauth, who posted personal best marks in both the shot put (26 feet, 11.5 inches) and discus (82 feet, 3.75 inches), and Matt Francis, who also recorded a personal best effort in the javelin (39 feet, 10.25 inches) to finish 16th overall in the event. 

On the women's side, Kayse Cornett broke the program record in the hammer throw with an 82 foot, 7.75 inch effort. Cornett also posted personal best marks in the javelin (67 feet, 0.75 inches) and shot put (32 feet, 6.5 inches), as well. Meanwhile, Darby Martin was fourth in the pole vault in a personal best mark of seven feet, 0.5 inches, and Danielle Jasiewicz posted a personal best mark in the 1500-meter run, crossing the finish line in 6:59.12.

The UC track & field squads return to action on Thursday, competeing at the 2013 AAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Johnson City, Tenn.
