ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Union College track & field's William White and Kayse Cornett were named the Appalachian Athletic Conference's men's and women's field athletes of the week, the league announced Monday.

This marked the second straight week members of the UC track & field team swept the AAC's field athlete awards, as Frantzy Sejour and Christa Hicks collected the honors last week.

White, a junior, led the Bulldogs at the Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) Invitational this past Saturday, pacing the team to a sixth place finish. White had top five finishes on the day in two events - the javelin, where he placed third after a 155 foot, 11.75 inch throw, and the shot put, where he finished fifth with a 40 foot, six inch effort.

Cornett, a sophomore, paced the Lady Bulldogs to a seventh place finish in the event. Cornett had high finishes in two events on the day, placing fifth in the shot put (29 feet, 11.5 inches) and eighth in the hammer throw (65 feet).

The Union College men's and women's track & field teams return to action on Saturday when they take part in the Bellarmine (Ky.) Invitational.
