BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College will square off against a total of 10 Mid-South Conference teams in 2008 as head coach Tommy Reid recently announced the team's 2008 football schedule.

The Bulldogs will take on four teams for the MSC West as well as the other six programs in the MSC East. There is a new twist in the Mid-South as there are now 13 teams in the league - six in the MSC West and seven in the MSC East. First-year member Faulkner (Ala.) University will compete in the MSC West with Campbellsville (Ky.) University moves over to the MSC East.

Union does have one non-MSC game on tap - a Sept. 13 tilt slated against Malone (Ohio) College. Union played at Malone in 2007 and dropped a 55-21 decision.

Union will open the season on Sept. 6 with a date at Lambuth (Tenn.) University. These two teams traded touchdowns in a wild 48-44 Lambuth victory in 2007 in the first game played on Union's synthetic sports grass field.

The Union-Cumberlands (Ky.) rivalry returns to Barbourville on Oct. 11 as the two teams will battle for the Brass Lantern. Union's homecoming is slated for the following week as MSC East rival Pikeville (Ky.) College comes to town.

In all, the 2008 schedule sports six home games and five road dates.
