MONTREAT, N.C. - Union received solid performances from Drew Hillard (Lexington, Ky.) and Justin King (Barbourville, Ky.) while catcher Gabby Juarbe (San Juan, P.R.) drove in five runs as the Bulldogs defeated host Montreat (N.C.) 12-3 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Sunday

With the victory, Union wins the series two games to one and improves to 15-10 overall and 5-4 in conference play. Montreat is now 10-13 overall and 1-5 in the AAC.

Hillard tossed seven innings and allowed two runs on four hits with six strikeouts in collecting the win. He is now 3-3 on the season. King, meanwhile, threw the final two innings and gave up one run.

At the plate, Juarbe proved just about all the offence the Bulldogs needed, belting two home runs and driving in five. He now has three four-baggers on the year. Tyler Brake (Burlington, Ky.) went 3-for-5 for his second three-hit game of the year as well as collecting two RBIs.

Union returns home on Tuesday to host Mid-Continent (Ky.) in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
