BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Both the Union College men's and women's swimming teams have been honored by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), earning spots on the organization's NAIA Scholar All-American Teams for the Fall 2012 semester.

The CSCAA presents the Team Scholar All-American award to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. For the Fall 2012 semester, the UC men's team had a 3.14 GPA, while the women registered a 3.06 GPA.

"Our guys and girls are very deserving of this accolade," said head swimming coach Rafael Forti. "They work very hard in the classroom to keep their grades high, despite our rigorous training schedule. It is great to know that we are performing well not only in the pool, but also in the classroom."

At the 2013 NAIA Swimming & Diving Championships earlier this month, UC completed the 2012-13 season with strong finishes on both sides. The Union men finished seventh overall, while the women placed eighth.
