BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - The Union baseball team scratched out a pair of wins Saturday, defeating visiting Concordia (Mich.) 2-1 in eight innings and 6-4.

The Bulldogs improve to 6-4 overall with the doubleheader sweep, while the Cardinals are 0-2 on the year.

The teams will complete the four-game series with a twinbill set at 1 p.m.

Game 1
Union trailed the game 1-0 until the sixth. With two on, a throwing error allowed Ben Hartley (Lexington, Ky.) to score to even the score. The game went into the eighth knotted at 1-1. Again, the Bulldogs had runners on first and second when a throwing error allowed Gabby Juarbe (San Juan, Puerto Rico) to cross the plate as the game-winning run.

Justin King (Barbourville, Ky.) collected the win, striking out the side in the top of the eighth.

Game 2
The Bulldogs got off to a quick start in the second game, scoring five runs in the first four frames. LaVance Anderson (Bowling Green, Ky.) had a two-run single in the second inning to help Union to the early advantage.
