BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union senior center Lindsey Waters was named to the 2012-13 Capital One Academic All-America® College Division Women's Basketball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The Stearns, Ky., native earned a spot on the second team in becoming the second Lady Bulldog to make the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team. Allison Fowler made the first team in 2007-08.

Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 15,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
A psychology major, Waters not only leads the Lady Bulldogs but also the Appalachian Athletic Conference in scoring (16.7 points per game), rebounding (9.7 rebounds per game) and blocks (88). Three times this season she has been named the AAC Player of the Week. Waters broke her single-season record for blocks in a season after posting 82 in 2011-12. Waters ranks 13th in program history in scoring at 1,118 points and sixth in rebounding at 617.
Waters and the Lady Bulldogs are 19-9 overall and went 12-6 in conference play. Union is the No. 3 seed in this week's AAC Tournament and open play against No. 6 seed Virginia Intermont Thursday at 5:15 p.m. The tournament is being played at the MeadowView Marriott Conference Resort & Convention Center in Kingsport, Tenn.
