BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College men's swimming head coach Rafael Forti has announced that Christopher Clark has signed his National Letter of Intent to join the Bulldog program next fall.

Clark, a native of Sarasota, Fla., plans to swim long-distance freestyle and IM for the Bulldogs.

"I am glad to have Chris with us for next season," said Forti. "He is a very hard working swimmer, and I know he will contribute right away. He brings in many years of competitive swimming experience that he gained while growing up in Florida, and he will add much needed depth to our distance free events and individual medley events."

Clark has prepped at Cardinal Mooney Catholic high school in Sarasota, where he has been a member of the varsity swim team since the ninth grade. This season, Clark is the team's captain. He has also swum for the Sarasota Tsunami swim club, as well.

In all, Clark has swam competitively for the last seven and a half years. Also, he has taken part in the USA Swim Senior Championships the last few years, qualifying in several events.

Christopher, the son of William and Margaret Clark, plans to major in athletic training at Union College.

The Union College men's swimming team return to action on Thursday, as UC hosts the 2013 Appalachian Swimming & Diving Conference Championships at the Stivers Aquatic Center. The event runs through Saturday evening.
