BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College women's swimmer Renata Cabral has been named the Appalachian Swimming and Diving Conference's Women's Swimmer of the Week, the league announced today.

This marks the third time on the 2012-13 season that Cabral has been named the ASC Swimmer of the Week, earning the honor on Oct. 9 and Oct. 24, as well.

Cabral, who swam in her final meet as a member of the Lady Bulldogs this past weekend, posting a strong going away effort in leading UC to a second place finish.

In all, Cabral finished first in all three of her individual events - the 50-free with a time of 23.80, the 100-fly with a time of 57.51, and the 100-free with a time of 51.18.

Cabral also swam on all five relays; she split 23.58 on the winning 200 Free Relay, 57.74 on the second place 400 Medley Relay, 26.26 on the winning 200 Medley Relay, 1:52.37 on the winning 800 Free Relay, and 51.12 on the winning 400 Free Relay.

The Union College swimming teams return to action on Jan. 12, hosting West Virginia Tech and Bethel (Tenn.) at Stivers Aquatic Center. Action gets underway at 1 p.m.
