WINONA LAKE, Ind. - The 24th-ranked Union women's basketball team suffered its second loss in a row as host Grace (Ind.) held on for the 61-58 decision Saturday in the Grace College Classic.

The Lady Bulldogs are now 4-2 on the season, while the Lady Lancers are 6-1.

Union led 28-27 at the half and owned 42-36 lead following a Lydia Nash basket with 11:14 to play. However, Grace went on an 11-1 run to grab a 47-43 advantage. Jayla Starks scored with 8:36 remaining to give the Lady Lancers a four-point edge.

A 3-pointer by Haley Perkins cut deficit to one, but Grace scored six straight points to open up a 53-46 lead with 5:42 to go. A pair of Nash free throws with 3:16 on the clock pulled Union within 56-54, but that was as close as the Lady Bulldogs could come to tying or retaking the lead as the Lady Lancers held on for the 61-58 decision.

Perkins and Amber Taylor led Union in scoring with 11 points each, while Lindsey Waters added 10 points, eight rebounds and three blocks. With her nine blocked shots this weekend, Waters now has over 100 blocks during her time at Union. She currently has 104.

For Grace, Juaneice Jackson netted a game-high 17 points with Emily Bidwell following with 14 points.

Union returns to action Tuesday when it pays Asbury (Ky.) a visit. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
