OWENSBORO, Ky. - Four different Union College men's soccer players scored goals, as the Bulldogs pulled out a 4-3 win at Brescia (Ky.) on Wednesday in NAIA action.

With the win, Union moved to 5-8-2 on the season, while Brescia fell to 5-7-1 with the defeat.

The Bulldogs got off to a fast start in the second minute, as Tom Bayliss scored off an assist from Joe Butcher to give UC the early 1-0 lead. The score for Bayliss was his first of the season.

Brescia, however, answered a minute later with a goal to tie the match up at one. UC took the lead back in the 18th minute, as Jonathan Watson put a throw-in from TJ Speckman into the back of the net, giving the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead. The goal for Watson was his eighth of the season.

Union kept the lead throughout the rest of the period, and into intermission. But, to start the second half, Brescia tied the match again with a goal in the 50th minute to make it 2-2.

The Bulldogs then took the lead for good after two goals were scored within minutes of one another. The first came in the 71st minute via a header by Cole Bray, his sixth goal of the season. Speckman was credited with his second assist of the game of the play, as the score made it 3-2, UC.

A few minutes later, in the 75th minute, Jacob Dukes scored the eventual game-winner off another Butcher assist to make it 4-2. The goal for Dukes was also his first of the year.

Brescia made things interesting late, scoring a goal with a little over a minute left to cut the UC lead to one, but it was too little, too late for the home side, as the Bulldogs picked up an out-of-conference road win.

Overall, Union took 17 shots in the match, nine of which were on goal, and struck 14 corners (11 of those coming in the first half of play).

The Union College men's soccer team returns to action on Saturday, hosting Berea (Ky.) in the programs annual homecoming match. The contest, which will be played at Bulldog Field, kicks at 4 p.m.
