BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College cross country and track & field coach Jamie Ness has announced that Pablo Gavillan has signed his National Letter of Intent to participate on both the cross country and track teams at Union.

Gavillan, a native of Orlando, Fla., is currently enrolled at Timber Creek High School where he plans on graduating in the Spring. There, Gavillan has participated in field and track events, taking part in the triple and long jump, as well as the 800 and 400 meters dashes. He is also in the midst of his first season on the cross country team currently.

"I'm very excited to have Pablo joining our team next fall," said Ness. "Pablo is still fairly new to the sport and still learning his events, so while he has already put up strong performances I'm confident he can make huge strides in the coming seasons. On top of his athletic accomplishments I'm pleased to be bringing in a kid with a strong academic background, as well."

The Union cross country teams return to action tomorrow when they take part in the Southeast Classic in Berea, Ky.
