ROME, Ga. - The Union men's golf team posted a 19th-place finish in a loaded field at the Chick-Fil-A Collegiate Invitational in Rome, Ga.
The Bulldogs shot 313 during Monday's opening round before finishing with a 311 Tuesday for a final tally of 624, placing them one stroke behind Berry's (Ga.) B team. Union finished nine strokes better than 20th-placed Talladega (Ala.), which posted a two-day score of 633.
Coastal Georgia won the event with a 578, one stroke better than Cumberlands (Ky.). Spring Hill (Ala.) was third at 591, while Lee (Tenn.) and LIndsey Wilson (Ky.) were fourth and fifth at 597 and 598, respectively. In all, 25 teams and 133 golfers competed.
Tim Cooper paced Union with a two-day score of 151, tying him for 36th. Thomas Scott followed with a 152, while Garrett Bradley and Aaron Wright helped out with a 159 and 163, respectively.
Alastair Tidcombe of Cumberlands took top individual honors with a 141.
Union returns to action Oct. 22-23 when it hosts the Bulldog Invitational at Wasioto WInds Golf Course in Pineville, Ky.
