BARBOURVILLE, Ky. Ė Union College menís swimming relay teams own five top-20 NAIA times, announced Wednesday by the organization. Freshman Michael Viscardi also ranks among the NAIAís best individuals twice.

The group of Viscardi (Marietta, Ga.), Colin McEachran (Blenheim, Canada), Karl Smith (Lexington, Ky.) and Jeremiah Back (Flatgap, Ky.) are currently eighth in the 800-yard freestyle relay. They posted a school-record time of eight minutes and 3.42 seconds.

Smith, Back, Viscardi and Adam Woodard (Hopkinsville, Ky.) posted the ninth-best time in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:34.93.

A pair of relay teams rank 11th, the 200 freestyle and 400 medley relay teams. Smith, Back, Woodard and Viscardi make up the 200 freestyle team that qualified after they swam the event in 1:35.60. McEachran, Viscardi, Back and Woodard were on the 400 medley team that posted a time of 4:01.71.

McEachran, Viscardi, Smith and Woodard also combined in the 200 medley relay for the nationís 14th best time with a 1:48.99.

Viscardi is 14th in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:21.59 and 17th in the 100 breaststroke after he posted a time of 1:03.52.

Next for Union is the two-day Centre College Invitational set to begin on Jan. 11.
