MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. - The Union volleyball team suffered a setback Tuesday as host Milligan (Tenn.) handed the Lady Bulldogs 3-1 Appalachian Athletic Conference loss.

The loss is Union's third in a row as it is now 3-8 overall and 2-1 in conference play. Milligan is 7-5 overall and 3-0 in the AAC.

Union was in every set as the match could have easily have had gone the Lady Bulldogs' way as Milligan posted the 25-23, 25-23, 22-25, 25-23 victory.

Senior Cat Neumann paced Union with 12 kills, while Caity Merritt and Paige Moore followed with nine and eight kills, respectively. Hollie Hopkins chipped in seven kills. Merritt also posted six total blocks with Hopkins added four. As a team, Union recorded 12 total blocks. 

Gabrielle Kelly recorded 27 digs.

For Milligan, Holly English led the way with 16 kills, and Katelin Henson registered 21 digs.

Union returns to action Thursday when it pays AAC foe Virginia Intermont a visit. Match time is set for 6:30 p.m.
