GEORGETOWN, Ky. - Sophomore Jonathan Watson scored twice, once in each half, as the Union College men's soccer team defeating Ohio Christian, 2-0, at the 2012 Georgetown College Classic on Friday evening.

With the win, Union moved to 1-2 on the season, while Ohio Christian fell to 0-3 with the loss. 
"It's feels great to get our first win of the year," said head coach Tyler Brock. "We had a great effort out there tonight, especially from our bench. Brad Seiter and Brian Chapman came up huge for us in the midfield off the bench. We're getting better, and tonight was a nice step forward for us." 
In the first half, UC got on the board in the 33rd minute with Watson's first goal, in which Joe Butcher earned his first assist of the season on. From there in the first period, the Bulldogs held Ohio Christian in check, as they held the Trailblazers to just four total shots in the first 45 minutes. 
In the second period, the Bulldogs put the match away in the 55th minute on Watson's second goal. Freshman Cole Bray earned the assist on the play, his second of the season, as Union went up two goals.
From the next 35 minutes, the Bulldog defense was dominant, as both Madison Justice and Adrian Frazier held Ohio Christian scoreless to shutout Ohio Christian in the victory. 
Overall, Union outshot Ohio Christian 21-9 in the victory, and had a 4-3 edge in corner kicks. Ohio Christian goalie Steve Fabian kept the Trailblazers in the match, making eight saves in 90 minutes of work in net.
UC finishes up play at the Georgetown Classic tomorrow, when they take on Huntington (Ind.). Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
