BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- The Union College cycling team, the defending NCCA Division II National Champion, announced their 2012 schedule recently. The program is headed by first year coach Peter Haile, who took the reigns from the departing Chuck Coffey in June. 

The team will open their 2012 slate on Aug. 25 when they travel to Athens, Ga. for a race hosted by the University of Georgia that will finish on Aug. 26. After traveling to the East Tennessee State race in Johnson City on Sept. 8-9, the Bulldogs will host a race in Barbourville on Sept. 15 & 16. 

Following races at Georgia Tech (Sept. 22 & 23) and Brevard (Sept. 29 & 30), the Bulldogs will travel to the University of Florida in Gainesville for the 2012 Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference Championships on Oct. 6 & 7. The Bulldogs are the two-time defending champions of the event.

The 2012 season wraps up on Oct. 19 when the team travels to Angel Fire, N.M. for Cycling Nationals, where the Bulldogs will try to repeat at Division II National Champions. The race finishes up on Oct. 21.
