BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- Union College head men's soccer coach Tyler Brock has announced that Joe Woodley, a native of Stroud, England, has signed his National Letter of Intent and plans to join the Bulldog program when preseason camp opens next month.

"We are very happy to have Joe joining our program here at Union," said Brock. "We expect Joe to come in, and compete right away for a position on the defensive side of the pitch. Joe has the ability to be composed on the ball, which is always a nice trait to have."

In his native England, Woodley clubbed with Cirencester Academy. He was a a part of a team that won the Under-18 National English Colleges title, playing in 45 matches in the last two years. Woodley also played for the Brimscombe and Thrupp men's team in the Hellenic League.

Woodley plans to major in sports management at Union College.

The Bulldogs, members of the NAIA and the Appalachian Athletic Conference, finished last season with a 10-7-2 overall mark.
