BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- The Union College men's and women's soccer teams have announced their 2012 regular season schedules, the programs announced recently.

The men's team, led by head coach Tyler Brock - who is entering his 10th season as the team's head coach - will look to improve upon last season's 10-7-2 overall record.

UC opens their 2012 slate at home, hosting the Bulldog Classic at Burch/Nau Field on Aug. 24-25. On the 24th, UC takes on Emmanuel (Ga.), marking the second straight year they will open up against the Lions (Union dropped a 2-0 decision last season). The Classic concludes the next day when the Bulldogs play host to Belhaven (Miss.).

The next weekend (Aug 31-Sept. 1), the Bulldogs travel to Georgetown (Ky.) to take part in the 2012 Georgetown Classic, where they will face Huntington (Ind.) and Ohio Christian. After a road contest at Mountain State (W.Va.) on Sept. 8, the Bulldogs jump into Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play, hosting Virginia Intermont in the 2012 Conference opener on Sept. 12 at Burch/Nau Field.

The rest of the schedule features matches against AAC opponents, and a few out-of-conference matches, including the teams bout with rival Cumberlands (Ky.) on Sept. 26 on the road. The team will also host their annual Homecoming Match on Oct. 27 against Berea, beginning at 4 p.m.

The Lady Bulldogs, led by second year head coach Camila Mendes, look to build on a 10-8 regular year last year, that saw the team fall in the semifinals of the 2012 AAC Tournament.

The regular year begins on Sept. 1 for UC, when they host Rio Grande (Ohio) at Burch/Nau Field. After road trips at Ohio Mid-Western (Sept. 5) and Bethel (Tenn.) (Sept. 8), the Lady Bulldogs open AAC play on Sept. 12 against Virginia Intermont, who is entering their first year as a program in 2012.

The rest of the slate features matches with AAC foes, and out-of-conference matches at Cumberlands, Cumberland (Tenn.), Georgetown, and at home to Midway (Ky.). The Midway match will be the squad's 2012 Senior Day.
