BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- Union College men's soccer coach Tyler Brock has announced that Trevor Herd, a native of Somerset, Ky., has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Bulldog program this fall.

Herd, who is a forward, prepped at Somerset High School.

"Trevor is going to a great addition to our program," said Brock. "I want to see him improve on his runs and what kind of support he shows to the midfield, but I think he is up for the challenge. It's going to be exciting to see him mature over the next four years."

At Somerset High, Herd scored 50 goals and notched 13 assists throughout his career as a member of the school's boy's soccer team. In his junior year, Herd scored 27 goals in 21 matches, eventually earning the Somerset Commonwealth Journal's All-County MVP award for his efforts.

Despite being riddled by injuries during his senior campaign, Herd still scored nine goals, and added five assists. During his career at Somerset, he was named to both All-District and All-Tournament Teams for his stellar play on the pitch.

The Bulldogs, members of the NAIA and the Appalachian Athletic Conference, finished last season with a 10-7-2 overall mark.
