BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- Union College head men's soccer coach Tyler Brock has announced that Brian Chapman, a native of Williamstown, Ky., has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Bulldog program this fall.

Chapman, who is a midfielder, has prepped at Grant County High School.

"Brian is a nice midfielder that is comfortable on the ball," said Brock. "He has some good tactical ability that helps him get out of bad situations, and that is really gonna help him as prepares to step up to the college level.

"I expect Brian to be one of those guys that is going to come into preseason and work hard. With the number and quality of midfielders we have coming in, he will have no choice but to get better and learn something new every day."

At Grant County, Chapman was named the school's MVP after scoring five goals from the midfield during his sernior year. He also earned All-District team accolades, and was named to the All-Tournament team at the Grant County Invitational.

The Bulldogs, members of the NAIA and the Appalachian Athletic Conference, finished last season with a 10-7-2 overall mark.
