BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- Union College men's head soccer coach Tyler Brock has announced that Dawson Marcum, a native of Richmond, Ky., has signed his National Letter of Intent to join the Bulldog program this fall.

Marcum, who prepped at Madison Central High School, is a midfielder and a forward.

"I have known Dawson since he was in middle school," said Brock. "He is the kind of kid that has a lot of passion in his play, he wants to succeed not only for himself, but for his teammates and his coaches.

"Dawson is just a great kid on and off the field. He is not only the type of athlete we want here on campus, he is also the kind of quality student and person we want on our campus."

Marcum played on the Madison Central varsity team for the last four years, earning an honorable mention honor on the Kentucky All-State team this past season after scoring 12 goals on the year. He also earned First Team All-Region this past year, and was a two-time recipent of the "Coaches Award".

Marcum has also clubbed with the Bluegrass Soccer Club for the past few years.

The Bulldogs, members of the NAIA and the Appalachian Athletic Conference, finished last season with a 10-7-2 overall mark.
