GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Union College women's golf team is in third place overall after the first round of the 2012 Appalachian Athletic Conference/NAIA Women's Golf Direct Qualifier, held at the Link HIlls Country Club.

The Lady Bulldogs were led in the first round by Rebecca Gray, who fired an 87 (45-42) to put herself in ninth place overall on the individual side of the tournament. Right behind Gray in a tie for 10th overall are teammates Katie Horn (42-46) and Katie Nusz (43-45), who both shot 88's on the day. 

Rounding out the the lineup for Union were Brittany Zins, who shot 90 (46-44) to put herself in 14th overall, and Kelli Hensley, who is in 24th after posting a 97.

Action at the NAIA Qualifier wraps up tomorrow.
