BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- Union College head's men's soccer coach Tyler Brock has announced that Reed Johnson, a native of Fort Knox, Ky., has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Bulldog program this fall.

Johnson, who prepped at Fort Knox High School, plans to play in the midfield for the Bulldogs. He also plans on joining the UC track & field squad, as well.

"Reed will bring a lot of speed to our flank play next year," said Brock. ""I feel Reed will be very successful here at Union in the classroom as well. We are very happy to have Reed joining our soccer program for next year"

At Fort Knox, Reed was the captain of the boy's soccer team in his senior year, scoring 20 goals, while adding 12 assists. For his efforts, Reed was named the MVP of his team last season, as well as garnering  first-team All-District honors, and an Honorable Mention selection to the All-Area team.

The Bulldogs, members of the NAIA and the Appalachian Athletic Conference, finished last season with a 10-7-2 overall mark.
