BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- Union College men's swimming coach Rafael Forti has announced that Aaron Bean, a native of Madisonville, Ky., has signed his National Letter of Intent to join the Bulldog program this fall.

"I am looking forward to working with Aaron next season," said Forti. "He is very coachable and has a good potential. He is also a bright student and will be an asset to Union College."

"I expect to improve to the best of my ability through hard work, dedication, and teamwork," said Bean. "I believe and expect that training and competing with other Bulldogs will allow me to reach my full potential both in and out of the pool."

Bean plans to swim 100-breast, 100-free, and 200-IM for the Bulldogs. He prepped at Hopkins County High School, where he was a member of the swim team for the last five years. He also club swam for the YMCA Hurricanes, as well.

In the classroom,. Bean earned several academic awards. He was named a KHSAA Academic All-State four years in-a-row, and was also on the school's Dean's List all four years. He was also named Hopkins County's Student of the Week three times. 

Bean, the son of Tracy and Shawn Bean, plans to major in athletic training at Union College.
