BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College head swimming coach Rafael Forti has announced that Lexus Thompson has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Lady Bulldog program this fall. Thompson is a native of Maryville, Tenn.

"I am very confident Lexus will have a smooth transition from high school to college swimming," said Forti. "I see her helping us a lot this upcoming season in backstroke, IM, and relay events. I am thrilled she is joining our program."

Thompson has prepped at William Blount High School in Maryville, and has been swimming competitively for the last six years. At William Blount, she was an Tennessee State qualifier and a Southeastern qualifier this season. Out of the pool, she is a member of the school's Senior Athletic Leadership Team. 

Thompson, who will focus on the 100 and 200-back, along with the 200-IM at Union, has also swum for the Blast Swim Club under head coach Nolan Marrell.

Lexus, the daughter of Ray and Dena Thompson, plans to major in nursing at Union College.
