ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Union junior Lindsey Waters is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

This is the sixth time the Stearns, Ky., native has received the award this season. 

Waters helped Union to a pair of conference wins last week. The Lady Bulldogs finished the regular season with a 22-7 overall and 13-5 conference mark.

The 6-foot-1 center averaged 23 points and 10 rebounds last week. She registered her school-record 18th double-double of the season with 23 points and 12 rebounds at Bryan. In addition, Waters now owns the school's single-season blocks record with 76.

On the season, Waters leads the conference in scoring (21.0), rebounding (10.9) and blocks (2.62) and ranks 5th, 3rd and 4th in NAIA Division II in those categories. She also ranks 17th in NAIA Division II in field-goal percentage (50.5%).

This is the final week for the AAC Basketball Player of the Week awards.

The Lady Bulldogs will open AAC Tournament play as the No. 2 seed on Wednesday when they play host to No. 7 seed Reinhardt (Ga.) at 7 p.m.
