BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union wide receiver Demetrius Hicks made 2011 All-Commonwealth Team, the Kentucky Chapter of the National Football League Alumni announced recently.

The All-Commonwealth Team is made of the top players who played for a college in the state of Kentucky regardless of division. Of the 44 players named to the squad, Hicks (Frankfort, Ky.) is one of nine from the NAIA with the other 35 coming from all divisions in the NCAA.

A 6-foot-1, 169 pounds, Hicks had his season cut short due to injury as well but finished with 24 receptions for 497 yards and four touchdowns. A two-time All-Mid-South Conference West honorable mention, Hicks is second in program history for career yards per catch average at 22.8. He also ranks third in total receiving yards (1,729) and receiving touchdowns (16). His 75 receptions place him 15th in program history.

Union finished 2011 2-9 overall and 1-6 in the MSC West.
