WALESKA, Ga. - Junior guard Laura Perkins scored with four seconds remaining to lift No. 24 Union past host Reinhardt (Ga.) 64-62 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Tuesday.

The win improves the Lady Bulldogs to 17-6 overall and 8-4 in the AAC, while the Lady Eagles fall to 11-13 overall and 6-6 in league play.

Union led 53-41 after a Brooke Hill (Sparta, Ky.) bucket with 9:05 left. But Reinhardt clawed its way back, eventually taking a 62-60 lead following an Erin Courington basket with 1:53 to play.

Kara Pile (Fairdale, Ky.) tied it up at 62-62 with a jumper in the lane with 36 seconds to go. With nine seconds on the clock, Dallas Smith was fouled and sent to the line to shoot 1-and-1. She missed the front of the bonus situation, Perkins (Myra, Ky.) grabbed the rebound, raced down the court and scored with four seconds left to put Union up 64-62.

Lindsey Waters (Stearns, Ky.) led a trio of Lady Bulldogs in double figures as she scored 22 points to go with 14 rebounds for her 15th double-double of the season. Hill followed with 12 points, while Alyson Roberts (Baxter, Tenn.) added 10 points. Perkins netted only six but scored the decisive two when it counted.

Courington paced Reinhardt with 22 points with Jordan Marsh chipping 12 points.

Union returns to action Thursday when it hosts Montreat (N.C.) in another key conference battle. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
