LAKE WALES, Fla. -- Warner (Fla.) guard Ian Wilheim scored a game-high 24 points, as the 18th ranked Lions used a dominant second half performance to roll past Union, 89-62, on Saturday evening in NAIA men's basketball action. The game was a part of the 2011 Crooked Creek Classic.

With the loss, UC fell to 3-12 on the season, while Warner improved  to 7-3 overall with the victory.

In the first half, the Bulldogs kept pace with the ranked Lions throughout the period, and at the end of the first 20 minutes, Warner held a slim 34-32 lead going into the locker room for intermission.

In the second half, however, Warner was the aggressor from the start , and eventually pulled away from UC. The Lions outscored the Bulldogs by 25 (55-30) in the period, and cruised down the stretch to pick  up a 27-point home win.  

Overall, Union was led in the losing effort by Ryan Young (Waynesburg, Ky.), who scored 13 points, while also dishing out three assists. UC's only other double-digit scorer on the night was Josh Hurd, (Independence, Ky.) who scored 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field.

Wilheim led Warner in the win with his 24-point performance, as the Lions had three players score in double-figures in the victory.

Union will now go on Holiday break, and remain idle until Jan. 2, when they travel to Point Lookout, Mo. for the 2012 McDonald's CAM JAM Classic. In their first game on that day, the Bulldogs will play host College of the Ozarks beginning at 8:30 p.m.(EST)
