OWENSBORO, Ky. -- Brescia used a strong second half performance to knock off Union College, 72-57, in NAIA men's basketball action Saturday evening at the Owensboro Sports Center.

With the loss, UC fell to 3-10 on the year, while Brescia improved to 6-4 with the win. The Bearcats also avenged a loss earlier in the year to Union with the victory, as the Bulldogs bested the Bearcats 85-71 on Nov. 19 at Robsion Arena.

In the game, Brescia took control of the contest in the second half, holding the Bulldogs to just 16 points over the final 20 minutes of action to pull away for the 17-point home win.

Union will remain in Owensboro, next playing at NCAA Division II member Kentucky Wesleyan on Monday. The game, which is an exhibition contest, tips at 8:30 (EST).
