LEXINGTON, Ky. - Union senior Lauren McMillan was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Northeast Region Team, the organization announced Wednesday.

This marks the first time the Corbin, Ky.,  native received this honor during her four-year career.

Another Lady Bulldog, Karina Ramos (Presidente Prudente, Brazil) made the squad as an honorable mention for the second year in a row.

McMillan led Union with 320 kills to go with her .220 hitting percentage, 153 digs, 49 total blocks (24 solos) and 27 service aces. Twice she posted a season-high 20 kills with the last time coming against Montreat (N.C.) on Nov. 10. McMillan also had a season-high four service aces against Montreat on Oct. 8, five total block against Milligan (Tenn.) on Sept. 13, and 17 digs against Asbury (Ky.) on Aug. 27.

An All-Appalachian Athletic Conference First Team member, McMillan ended her career with 556 career kills, 220 digs and 117 total blocks.

Ramos was also an All-AAC First Team selection this season as she recorded 161 kills, 29 aces, 46 total blocks and 82 digs. She owned a team-best .244 hitting percentage, and she had a season-high 12 kills three times.

Union finished the season 20-17 overall and 14-2 in the AAC, winning the regular-season conference championship.
